A snippet has been doing the rounds and you may find this useful. As of this week all UK mobiles will be on a directory which will mean that anyone including those lovely sales teams operating on a Sunday morning will be able to get hold of you on your mobile phone.
The numbers have been gleaned from websites, brokers (who collect and sell them for a living) and listings that you may have contributed to. Sometimes you can be just too accessible with twitter, facebook, linkedin, skype as well as your email.
If you fall into the category where privacy has a high rateable value, you can decide to opt out of the directory. It's easy to unsubscribe but it must be done (so I understand) before the beginning of next week to make sure that you are ex-directory. You may feel moved to advise your friends and family who have UK mobiles or they could be swamped by unsolicited messages and calls.
